X-Men: Apocalypse: See the First Look at Blob

There has been rumor that The Blob was sighted on the set of X-Men: Apocalypse, and now the film's director, Bryan Singer, has confirmed it by posting a first look photo in his Instagram account.

The image features The Blob lying flat on his back after being beaten in a cage fight by Ben Hardy's Angel. The caption reads,"Mutant Martial Arts. Light as a feather." Check out below exactly what Bryan Singer posted.

This isn’t the first time Blob has appeared in an X-Men movie. His first appearance was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he was portrayed by Kevin Durand. He was a member of Team X, but then he got really fat and had a goofy boxing match with Wolverine. X-Men: Days of Future Past pretty much wiped that movie from the face of the Earth, so this version of Blob probably has a different backstory.

Here is the official synopsis for X-Men: Apocalypse:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-Men: Apocalypse, which stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Lucas Till, Josh Helman, Lana Condor, and Ben Hardy.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters on May 27.
